Leeds comic con thing

Sat Nov 21, 2009, 5:37 PM
I never really got much of a chance to attend comic cons in the past so I was pretty happy to be going to this thing in Leeds. My more experienced con-going friends assured me it was kind of lame as far as cons go but I was still pretty stoked to be there, kind of like a nerdy kid in a candy store.

There were good cosplayers, there were bad cosplayers (including that one middle-aged guy in a Naruto outfit with the "FREE HUGS" sign I hear somehow shows up to every con everywhere without fail) and then there was this guy who looked like he'd walked straight off the set of the fucking Iron Man movie. The best cosplayer I've ever seen and he came out of NOWHERE too, I didn't even notice the guy until he was basically looming over me at which point I shat a brick mansion. It was amazing.

Tom Siddell of Gunnerkrigg Court was there too but I was too much of a wimp to talk to him.

I ended up buying Scott Pilgrim at a friends recommendation and it's the greatest thing I've ever read. I'm not even kidding, it's fantabulous.

I'll catch up with my messages and whatnot tomorrow, goddamn I'm tired.

Holiday? In the UK? Honestly I've no idea, there's about as much worth seeing in this country as there is in my wardrobe. I guess it depends on what you're wanting to do.
